Shelly Collins, RMR, CRR, CRC

President

Shelly was born and raised in Iowa. She began her career in court reporting in 1981, after graduating from American Institute of Business, in Des Moines, with an Associate of Business Degree and also passing her RPR and Iowa CSR certifications. She then spent eight years as a freelance reporter in Denver, Colorado, before moving to Kentucky in 1989. In Lexington, she worked for a freelance firm until 2013 when she and two partners started Collins Sowards Lennon Reporting, LLC, where she continues to work today. Shelly is a Registered Merit Reporter, Certified Realtime Reporter, and Certified Realtime Captioner. She and her husband, Pat, love living and working in Kentucky. They have raised three children and just welcomed their first grandchild in June 2021.

Jenna Parsons

Immediate Past President

Jenna Parsons is a graduate of Bryan University.  She started her court reporting career in 2017 in Greenville, South Carolina.  In 2019 Jenna moved to Richmond with family and began working with Coulter Reporting.

Prior to her career in court reporting, Jenna graduated from the University of Tennessee where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Counseling from East Tennessee State University.  

Jessica Myers

Vice President

Jess is a Louisville native who graduated from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale in 2004 with a bachelor's degree.  She returned to Louisville and has been working as a freelance stenographer since that time.  In 2006 she formed Certified Court Reporters with her mother a fellow court reporter, Kitty Shay.  Jess received her Registered Professional Reporter certification in 2004 upon graduation. She lives in Louisville with her husband and two children.  Jess is profoundly grateful for the wonderful opportunities her career has presented to her and absolutely loves her job.  When she is not working, she can be found singing in her car, kitchen or church.  She is also an avid puzzler.

Jolinda Todd, RPR, CLR, CCR

Treasurer

After changing majors twice in college, Jolinda found her way to court reporting school in Florence, Kentucky. Following a short stint at the Hamilton County Courthouse in Cincinnati, she began her freelance reporting career in 1993, based in Lexington, Kentucky. In 1999 she established Todd & Associates Reporting, Inc. with her husband Dave. Jolinda feels very blessed to be involved in this career and to have built a strong business over the years. When she is not working, you can probably find her on the walking trails, playing pickleball, or spending time with her husband and their three children and two dogs.

Annemarie Grant

Secretary

Annemarie graduated from court reporting school in Texas and later moved to Kentucky with her husband and children.  She’s been reporting for just shy of 15 years and enjoys covering a variety of litigation.  She looks forward to serving on the KyCRA board for 2023.   

For fun, Annemarie enjoys traveling and is a Disney fan at heart.

Melissa Engelman

Director

Melissia been a freelance reporter a has for 28 years.  After attending The Stenotype Institute, she joined Associated Reporters in Louisville, Kentucky, until 2011, when she then moved her office to Indiana.  She and her husband, Craig reside in Corydon, Indiana.  They have two daughters, Cortlin and Madison, and one grandson, Carter.  She enjoys gardening, cooking, and most of all spending time with her grandson.
